This policy covers the Vivaah app, vivaah.app and every related service (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection, use, storage, sharing and processing of your information as described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who can use Vivaah
Vivaah is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone younger and delete it when we find it. If you create or manage a profile for a relative, you confirm that they have agreed to it and to this policy.
What we collect
- Account: your mobile number and app language.
- Profile: the details you or a relative add, including name, gender, date of birth, height, marital status, religion, community and caste, languages, location, education, work, income, family, lifestyle and birth details.
- Photographs you upload.
- Partner preferences.
- Activity and messages: interests, shortlists, connections, blocks, reports, invitations, conversations and messages, and what you send to support.
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, push token, IP address, the screens you open and the actions you take, session recordings and crash reports. We and our providers collect this through SDKs, logs, cookies and similar technologies. You can turn off the app’s usage analytics and session recordings on your device under Profile › Privacy & safety › Share usage data to improve Vivaah; crash reports are still sent.
- Biodata from marriagebiodata.app: marriagebiodata.app belongs to the same operator. After you verify your number, we use it to look up biodata and orders made with that number on marriagebiodata.app, and may use what we find to fill in your profile, to decide on invitations and for the purposes below.
- Information from others: relatives who manage your profile, members who report or contact you, and our service providers.
How we use it
- To run the Service: create your account, verify your number, show your profile, suggest and rank matches, and deliver interests, messages and notifications.
- To personalise what you and other members see.
- To keep the Service safe: prevent fraud and misuse, enforce our terms and community guidelines, and investigate reports.
- To analyse use, carry out research, and develop new features, products and services, including those of the operator’s other businesses.
- To contact you on WhatsApp, by SMS, push notification, email or phone about your account, matches, offers, new features, and services from us and our partners.
- For marketing and promotion of the Service and our other products.
- To create aggregated or de-identified information, which we may use and share for any purpose.
- To comply with the law and to protect our rights and those of our members.
Who can see it
- Other members see your profile and photographs as the app allows. Your phone number is shared after both sides accept an interest.
- We may access and review profiles, photographs and messages to run the Service, moderate content and handle reports and support requests.
Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service providers that run the Service for us: Convex (backend and storage), Supabase (database), Wati and WhatsApp (sign-in codes and messages), Expo, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (notifications), PostHog (analytics and session recordings), Sentry (crash reports), Vercel (website hosting) and Hostinger (email).
- The operator’s other businesses, including marriagebiodata.app.
- Partners offering services related to marriage, such as matchmaking, astrology and wedding services, only with your separate consent, and never your contact details. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for their services or claims.
- Authorities and others when the law or a legal process requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our members or the public.

Where it is processed
Our providers store and process information in India and other countries, including the European Union and the United States. By using the Service, you agree to this transfer.
How long we keep it
We keep information while your account is active and afterwards for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including safety, fraud prevention, resolving disputes and enforcing our terms, or as the law requires.
Deleting your account
Delete your account in the app under Profile › Privacy & safety › Delete my account, or send a request from the delete-account page. Your profile is removed from the Service. Messages already delivered stay with the people who received them, and we may keep information as described above.
Security
We use commercially reasonable means to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its security.
